This piece is of a picture of my brother and me as infants. My brother was under a year old and I just about three years old. We are looking out onto the front lawn during the rain. To cut out the negative space of the wall and door, the subjects take up greater space on the canvas than in the photograph. The muted coloring and soft lines of the foreground reflect the rain coming down. The soft foreground contrasts against the detail of the clothing and hair of the subjects. This piece now hangs in the home of my mother and father.
